Friday Prayer

A cross may be used as a focal point for worship

Listening to my own heart, my sin and failure, I come to you O God.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though the waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
Psalm 46:1-3

Voice 1 : Jesus Christ committed no sin,
               no guile was found on his lips.
All :         You, O God, have mercy on those that honour you,
               the sins of the repentant are washed from your memory.

Come and see the works of the Lord, the desolations he has brought on the earth.
Psalm 46:8

Read Isaiah 61:1-3; Reflect on God’s justice; Pray for your own forgiveness; Pray for Shechem community

Lord, be with us this day,
Within us to purify us;
Above us to draw us up;
Beneath us to sustain us;
Before us to lead us;
Behind us to restrain us;
Around us to protect us.

Voice 1 : Jesus Christ committed no sin,
               no guile was found on his lips.
All :         You, O God, have mercy on those that honour you,
               the sins of the repentant are washed from your memory.

The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Psalm 46:11
